The Whiskey Del Bac Guide to Awesome Activities Over the Holidays
We didn’t open a distillery in Tucson randomly. It is because we love Arizona and the Sonoran desert. We put together this post to share with you some of our favorite things to do this time of year.
tucson, AZ
Come visit us!
We love visitors, stop in for a tour and tasting. It is a great way to spend some time with friends and family. It is a good option after a morning of adventure in town to warm up with a dram of whiskey.
Phoenix, AZ
The Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden
The perfect spot for a pre-dinner nighttime activity is the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden, especially if you have extended family in Phoenix for the holidays.
They are running an event all month called Las Noches de las Luminarias (https://dbg.org/events/las-noches-de-las-luminarias-3/2023-12-08/), where they light the trails with luminarias and the trees with gorgeous holiday lights. There’s also music, food, and drink available for your walk. I recommend the cider or the hot chocolate.
Bisbee, AZ
Visit One of the Awesome Art Galleries
Bisbee’s extraordinarily well-preserved early-twentieth-century downtown has cool historic architecture, You can take a day trip or overnight it at a hotel and visit one of the many great galleries. There are tons of other things to do there as well, so it is a great place to pack a bunch of fun things in for a day.
get outside!
Get outside! In Baja Arizona we have so many options, with our great expanses of beautiful Sonoran Desert, the sky island mountain ranges and the grasslands found in the Altar Valley, the Empire Ranch/Sonoita area and the San Rafael Valley. Fall and Winter light in all of Arizona is magical, with the long, sharp shadows and crisp colors, as opposed to the washed out, flat nature of summer light. And it’s too cold for snakes! It’s time to bask in the outdoors.
Ride a christmas themed railway
Ride the Verde Canon Railroad (The Magical Christmas Journey) or the Grand Canyon Railroad (The Polar Express).
With Christmas themed rides and stops at magical places, these rides are a fun way to celebrate the christmas spirit for all ages.
